Slow service...although the waitress was busting her butt while many other staff were just standing around. We ordered pizza since their sign says "pizzeria"...good crunch to the crust but it was bland. I would skip the pizza and go across the street for ice cream.

Love this place for the outdoor seating, people watching and all-you-can eat crab on Tuesday nights. The salads, mussels diablo, and pizzas are amazing! If you are looking for a place to kill a gorgeous Saturday this is it!

Had a good time at this place on a Saturday afternoon. Our server, Hunter, was extremely attentive and never left our glasses empty. He even, despite no typed drink menu, went through the trouble of researching 5 drink options for us. The prices were completely reasonable, if not low, for New Hope. As for the bikers, it does attract quite a few and for the record, they are delightful and welcoming more than most others.

very disappointed! there were a few things that jumped out but weren't "turn around and leave" stuff... FIRST, for the size of the place and amount of people that were there the single bathroom for each gender was ridiculous! a guy behind me went into lady's room just to wash his hands because someone was dying in the men's room... SECOND, cigar smoking... really? THIRD, we ordered a Dundee Seasonal and a Magic Hat #9... they came as 12oz. plastic cups and were barely even chilled. Then to top it off, the bartender charged us $15.25 for them?!?! you have got to be kidding me... AND LAST, but definitely not least... the guy bartender was a pr!ck and said (when I questioned the price) "yea, we f@#ing hear that all the time..." They are outrageously priced and are trying to rip off the crowds that come walking in but I am guessing they are taking advantage of the biker crowd the most because a cold beer goes a long way after a hot ride... I would NEVER visit this place again... if you have money to blow then do it... I gave it 2 stars because it has a nice outdoor area but again, pricing will definitely keep us away and I will be sure to let my fellow legion riders and m/c friends know to steer clear of this rip-off joint.

Best place in New Hope to sit at the bar with a big plate of nachos grande and people watch with cold beers! Also Tuesday during the summer is all you can eat crab legs!

After looking at several menus in town, I settled on this restaurant because the menu seemed down to earth. I love some of the local selection, but wanted to try somewhere new. The menu is well stocked with some of the best comfort food I have seen, considering the location. Most places in this area seem very over-the-top with these small portioned, overpriced meals. I was really satisfied with my meal, which was the chicken fajhita wrap. It came with fries and was extremely fresh and filling. I plan on trying the porkroll sandwich next time I am in town. The presentation was alright, with American food, it always looks pretty bland...but the taste and quality of the meal more than made up for it. The service was very attentive and nice. Their bathrooms were clean, which is a plus for me because if I see a skuzzy bathroom, I instantly judge the meal based off of that. I will most certainly come back soon and look forward to that sandwich!

Not your cheapest option for food and drinks in New Hope. They have outdoor seating overlooking Main St. A nice place to hang out if you want to relax with a drink and people watch. Good selection of beer, but again a bit pricey. The menu is nothing fancy - lots of basic bar type food and some entree options. The pizza is really good, other dishes are just average. It can be very hard to park nearby during popular times.

I have been to Fran's Pub plenty of times and it almost seems that I should have written a yelp review long time ago. I love their burgers but almost always order their white pizza with tomatoes. Crust is delicious and taste is so good...The service sucks and it's not the staff it is the kitchen that makes this place sucky. We waited for the pizza for about 45 minutes and our poor waitress was so apologetic and refilled our soda about 3 times before pizza arrived. Granted its a pub and the outdoor seating is fantastic but the place needs more managers and they definitely need to do some updating inside their bar area. Overall I will be back but with a little more time to spare.

Diet coke undrinkable, onion soup awful. Steamed clams good but tiny.

I've had better food on a plane. Full of wana be bikers and kids drinking cheap beer.

This is a great outdoor seating Pub. Very low profile, beer is cheap at the bar, not so much at the tables. Really this place is best for atmosphere, we go there about monthly and the food is never really good or bar, just outdoor bar food. The service could use some help though. Lots of young, high school kids who need to be told what to do, by the customer. Again you go there to sit outside, so nothing else matters if the weather is nice and the drinks are cold.

The beer was cold, the band was great, and the pizza was good. Very eclectic crowd. Had a great time. Don't expect gourmet but perfect place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon.

One of my favorite places to hang out at on a nice summer day. Service is not always good, but it's a good place to people watch. Food it pretty good and prices are reasonable.

Went here on a nice Friday evening with a coupon from Restaurant.com . Was pretty skeptical after reading some awful reviews, but went in with an open mind. We were greeted promptly by a very nice waitress, who recommended some appetizers for us. We got some beers and enjoyed some people watching while we waited for our grub. We got the hummus, which was good and served with plenty of pita wedges and veggies. I got the tuna steak sandwich, my boyfriend got the Tex Mex Platter. You get a lot of food, and we were stuffed. The food was good, not great. There are a lot of places in New Hope/Lambertville to get amazing food, but with our coupon we really couldn't complain. Our service was great. Beer is EXPENSIVE. $15 for two Shock Tops? Overall, nice experience. Will go again :-)

If you like a drink that makes you feel like you're 5 years old again bc it's a tiny ass paper cup, flies swarming your food and drinks, a cheap bastard manager who cares more about his money than decent customer service, THIS IS YOUR PLACE but if you want good food, cleanliness, and decent service go else where!!!! First like I said the drinks are a joke and the flies are disgusting! But most importantly I am big on costumer service, I mean I have had some shit food before but the service made up for it but that is NOT the case here. Our waiter was decent but when I received the "garlic wings" only to realize that 1st off they looked like overly deep fried pigeon wings, not one piece of actual garlic on them, and I only got 8 (and keep in my mind tiny ass hell) wings for 10 or 11 bucks!?!? So I was thinking maybe they sent me out the wrong item after flagging the waiter down, he informed me they are indeed garlic wings, just to taste it bc the garlic is in the coating.......last time I checked garlic wings didn't mean just garlic powder thrown in breading but I gave them ago but to almost burn in my mouth off in grease and they tasted like overly seasoned ass, after also begin to itch like crazy from them I decided I couldn't eat them bc a. They were awful and b. I was having some weird little reaction to something on them. After our server tried his very best to ignore us and the fact I wasn't eating them, my boyfriend flagged him down, asked him if we could send them back and take them off the tab bc they were not any good, he rudely stomped off with them, not even bothering to ask if I would like something else and low and behold here comes who I took to either be the manager or owner (a man with an accent in his 40s) who asked what was wrong, when I informed him they were not what I expected bc normally garlic wings actually have garlic on them and they didn't taste all that good and he again rather then offer to allow me to order something else began to lecture me " no place makes garlic wings like you want", " you are now costing me money because YOU didn't ask what they came like" and kept drilling the fact that I cost him money. I was so pissed but unlike this shit factory I have manners so I bit my tounge and just couldn't wait to yelp them. To finish our lovely time there are waiter was obviously pissed at us and rather than realize whether or not I enjoyed the food or even sent it back wouldn't effect his tip bc it' not his fault but he didn't realize fligging the receipt and pen at us and not saying one word after, and having a smug look on his face WOULD indeed affect his tip and I myself wouldve left nothing my boyfriend left him a few bucks. I come from a line of chefs and restaurant owners, I even went to school myself for it and I would never dream of having the balls to lecture a costumer! This place is a joke and a typical place in the midst of a tourist area so they only care about their money and not making people happy. I left and went home to a local place and got some garlic wings. Hope this helps and saves you time and money!!!

Very popular spot with the bikers who just love to ride into New Hope. In the summer months they have an enormous outside seating area and bar. The only downside is if you sit too close to the street, you get a face full of exhaust when the bikes start up. Service has always been good (our waitress last night was awesome) and the food is good. Inside there is a pool table, juke box and another bar. Definitely one of the spots to hit when bar hopping through New Hope.

I've had better meals in high school cafeterias. I stopped by Fran's ( franspub.com ) on July 4th for a burger and was very disappointed in the food and service, considering the positive reviews here. After a long drive from New Jersey, I was craving a cold drink and a juicy burger. I ordered a "New Orleans" burger served medium with bacon, hot peppers, and cayenne pepper.. what I received was an overcooked burger, with the consistency and taste of a hockey puck and served with with some cold french fries, wilted lettuce, bacon and mushrooms. I don't like mushrooms, so I picked them off, but I was really craving my hot peppers, some mustard, and a refill on my drink. I tried to flag down the waitress to complain but she had disappeared. When the waitress returned about 20 minutes later to drop off the check, I mentioned that I was disappointed because my burger hadn't been what I ordered, she replied, "Oh, sometimes that happens. Sorry." I try to be a low maintenance customer because I know serving is hard work -- but getting the correct order is a very basic expectation. That being said, as others have noted, it's a great place to toss back a few cold beers and watch the motorcycles go up and down Main Street -- but, on this particular Saturday afternoon, I noticed more polo shirt-clad yuppies drinking Landshark and Corona than leather-clad bikers beneath Fran's shaded tables.

My friend forgot his ID and they made him wait outside until someone brought it to him. Also, the coked up middle aged guy who was there playing pool and hopping all over the place, apparently on pretty chummy terms with the staff was also kind of a deterrent....

Long story short.. We won't be back. Due to the lack of service and rude attitude of one of their servers today on the outdoor patio we will not return. We were going to come for dinner but were treated like we were inconveniencing the waiter so we just got an appetizer and left. He couldn't even come back and take our alcohol order we had to order it thru a bus boy. It all just left a bad taste in our mouth and we wont be coming back or recommending this place. We ended up going to another restaurant down the street for dinner.

  • Caitlin S.

Not very pleased with this place. First of all the bartender we had was rude because my group of friends looked younger for our age so she automatically assumed we were under 21 and all had fake ID's. She looks at all of our ID's and when she gets to mine she almost doesn't let me get a drink because she can't find the holograph on my license. I was getting annoyed because I am 21 and was about to get the manager. On my license it says I'm under 21 until september 29, 2010. It is now 2011 so if I did have a fake ID I don't think it would have that bit of information on it. To make things easier they should swipe licenses like most places do now.

Frans!!! After my parents moved to New Hope from NJ, I was a bit shocked when they suggested Fran's for lunch. I was sure I'd seen the place full of bikers wearing a lot of leather (my parents are white yuppies). I was literally afraid we might be run out of the place... Well I was wrong! Fran's was great and welcoming. Perfect for lunch or dinner, especially in the summer when you can eat on the ginormous outside patio. Quality food (great sandwiches), good selection of beer, friendly staff, fun atmosphere.

Both my husband and I loved this place for years.....HOWEVER, this season, 2012 has been horrible. They have all new waiters and they are inexperienced. You will wait at LEAST 15 minutes to get a waiter, then, after placing the order.....good luck finding him again if you need a drink. Honestly, my husband and I have been coming to Fran's for years but now I think we will be lookin for a new hangout in New Hope. Just to let you know.....many others at the tables were saying the same thing....NEVER AGAIN. :( **Just a note....the girl waitreses seemed to be very good but the guy waiters need to go. Sooo if a manager from Fran's Pub is reading this.....get rid of the guy waiters!!! They suck!!

Nice atmosphere but the food is horrible! No flavor in any of our dishes. We had the vegetable pizza, linguini abruzzi, and chicken ranchero. All of which had to be covered in condiments for us to taste any flavor. Would not recommend this place to anyone.

Went here with a friend on a whim. It was late and the server let us know that the kitchen was closing soon. But apart from rushing our dinner order, this place was wonderful. A large pizza, some Magic Hat #9 and a Samuel Smith later and we were rolling out of that place, leftovers in hand.

Oh Fran's how I love your Waterloo sandwich!! Great place in summer to sit at the large outside seating area and people/biker watch. The food is great and the service is good depending on how busy they are. So much better after the inside bar went smoke free!! Has a pool table and a jukebox. I recommend the Waterloo grilled tuna steak sandwich!!

I ate dinner here yesterday. The food was ok, but I had better. The pasta was gross & the veggie burger was nothing special. I wouldnt come here for the food, maybe the bar or pool table.

I can only speak on the Tuesday nights all-you-can-eat crab legs. They always have quality crab legs and ok service. They need to get new plates of crab out to the customer quicker. Also the outside tables seem to always be rocking back and forth.

Really sunny Sunday afternoon, so we stopped at Fran's for a beer and a snack. Wasn't expecting too much; looked like a bar that happens to serve food. Wings were really good. Nicely cooked, but still moist. Pretty good pizza. Thin crust, good marinara. The server was on top of things, too. Sat outside facing the sun. Great afternoon! But $6.50 for a Stella draft? 10oz plastic cup? Jeez! Drink slow!

Horrible experience. First off the food was absolutely atrocious. I sat there with my chicken fingers and asked myself "how a restaurant could screw something as simple as chicken fingers up?!" They were ice cold in the middle. Unfortunately I also made the mistake of having 2 beers with my meal. I went for my third beer and was flagged due to an eye condition that causes my eyes to dry out easily! The bar tender even threatened me when I told him how ridiculous this was. Bottom line if you are looking for good food and a good time please look elsewhere. I have never experienced such a horrible restaurant/bar in my life. This happened about 6 month ago so hopefully fran's is under new management.

Met some friends here on a busy weekend. Hard to find the waiter. Had to put plates on a nearby table to get them bussed. Beer- just a yuengling- came in a small plastic cup but still cost $5. Fish n chips was greasy and undercooked and previously frozen. To their credit the power was on and off that afternoon Great people watching from the patio.

i never write reviews, but being how much i didn't like this place i figured i would. we tried it because it was crowded (which i would think means it is good and had outdoor seating) i ordered a cheeseburger with mushrooms and peppers and my bf ordered mozzarella sticks and meatball parm. when i got my burger and opened up the bun it looked like a frozen burger (which i don't even eat at home) and had canned mushrooms and they forgot the peppers which was no bigee. after seeing my "frozen burger" with canned mushrooms which didn't even look good i sent it back. i wasn't going to order something else, but decided on the pulled pork (whcih was popular according to the menu.) well when that came it looked basically like they just plopped it on a roll out of a bucket and drowned it with BBQ sauce. reminded me of dog food. i took a few little bites out of one half, it wasn't really worth eating. my burger came with chips but i asked for fries, which i got, but then when i ordered the pulled pork, the waitress brought it out with chips, no fries, which i just left at that. the mozzarella sticks weren't bad, you can't really screw that up. my bf said his meatball parm was ok, he basically eats antything though and is not one to complain. i am not one to complain that much eitrher, let alone send my meal back, like i said, this is my first review. when the waitress asked me if i wanted the rest of my meal wrapped i told her to throw it out. she didn't look too happy. i was just annoyed that being all the rest aurants in new hope, we picked a shitty one in my book.

Great place! My buddy brought me to New Hope from about an hour and a half away just to go to Fran's. I wasn't disappointed. Great atmosphere. Great People. Great bartenders. Nothing there annoyed me and there aren't many places that I can say that about. I will be back. Thanks Fran's.

We stopped here specifically for the all you can eat crab legs special. The crab legs were fantastic, but our appetizer of calamari was a big miss. Would not order again. Too rubbery and chewy. Drinks were also very expensive. Nice outdoor seating area with lots of people watching though. Our server was very sweet. But pretty hit or miss here depending on what you order.

Fran's Pub is that kind of place you come to kick back and have a beer, order some wings,a burger, sandwich or salad while enjoying the people watching...This is a very laid back casual atmosphere... The bartenders are so nice and friendly. You can hear the rock music while sitting at the bar coming off of the bartenders playlist... Fran's outdoor bar and outdoor seating area are truly the best place around for people watching and taking in a little bit of what New Hope has to offer..Their located right on South Main Street in heart of things...This place does have a loyal following with bikers, and repeat clientele, do to the friendliness of this place and its location. I've been here many times and the people come from all over. I always, always stop here when I'm in New Hope. Fran's Pub has indoor seating as well. They have a pool table and another larger bar inside with tables all around. This is the place I discovered my favorite grapefruit beer called Schofferhofer Weizen on tap. I couldn't remember the name and our bartender knew what I wanted immediately! It is a sweet and somewhat tart beer and it comes in a tall Pilsner glass... Fran's has a nice list of unique shots and speciality drinks they make daily . They offer 100 beers in a bottle including IPAs , and 13 beers on tap.. This time when I was here I ordered a large sausage pizza.. It was delicious lots of sausage and melted cheese on top. The flavor was really good. I have in the past tried their salads and buffalo, & garlic wings, both good. Monday is "Mexican and Blues Night" Open Blues Mic - 8-11p On Tuesdays they have" All U Can Eat Crabs Legs and Trivia Night. The crabs legs are delivered that day rain or shine .Happy Hour is 4:30-6:30p. Wednesday is "Steak Night" $25 for one or $45 for two includes wedge salad and mashed potatoes. Thursday is "All U Can Eat Wings" and music night. Local bands come out and play... Fridays Happy Hour again and drink specials.. Saturday "Pub Brunch" 10a-12p Sunday is "Sunday Funday"another Brunch 10-12p I come here more for the drinks and people watching then I do the food and service. When their real busy the service can get backed up...patience is a virtue ! If you love Harley's this is the place to see them. No helmet law in Pa. so they tend to come.If that's not your bag, come sit order a few drinks, snacks and relax.. Your bound to strike up a conversation or two....

So let me begin by saying that the only reason this place gets 2 stars is because of our server she was awesome. This place is kind of a disgrace to new hope. Which is a shame because they have the best if not the second best ( Havanas being 1st) location in new hope. But it is being so under utilized. So let me get to it, so me and my girlfriend went there to grab a bite to eat. She brought me here because she used to work here and she claimed the food was good so I thought I would give it a try. (She was a server and made very poor money because the place was always slow). So we sit down and asked for water and they give us these little paper cups, which is fine for a pizza joint, but not in the middle of new hope! Regardless, we ordered some nachos as an appetizer, I got the turkey burger and my girlfriend got the chicken parm sandwich. She enjoyed her sandwich, but I couldn't bring my self to take more than 3 bites of my burger. It was nasty. I'll put my life on it that it was just a frozen burger they pulled out of a box and slapped on a shitty bun. The nachos were gross too. I spent about $45 after tip for the shittiest meal I have ever had! If I was you I would go somewhere else in newhope and spend the little extra $$$ it's worth it The only thing keeping this place alive is its drinks. Their food is horrible

This place is a disgrace to New Hope. It's dingy. It's dirty. It's low class. We ate here during a day trip. Our server Taylor (according to the receipt) was the rudest, snottiest, inattentive waitress I have ever had! Yesterday was Mexican night and I would have liked to have seen the menu for it, but she never mentioned it. She however gave it to the other tables which is how I found out about it after our order was already placed. She wasn't knowledgeable about the menu. She asked me if I still needed to know the answer to my question n huffed n puffed and walked away when I said yes. The food....well horrible. $28 of horrible food. The grease in the fryer needs changed. Therefore our waffle fries were ruined. The charge extra for mayo. The pizza we ordered was stingy on sauce and toppings. I will never eat here again. I hope it goes under.

Love the location! The staff is very friendly (except for the ones that stand around talking to each other) but the food is very mediocre and outrageously priced...I wish we could go more often but the pricing and quality of food keeps us from being regulars....sorry Fran's

Can a restaurant be given zero stars? If so, this would be the one. I can't speak to the drinks, but the food is terrible. Their burgers are nothing more than frozen patties, and are outdone by most fast food joints. Why ask how you want it if it's not fresh, unless your options would be raw or over-cooked? It's been there for years, but I'm not sure how. Keep walking!

    (1)
  • Dan C.

I've never minded a place that was a little dingy, or even a tad dirty, but this place was just gross. Yes, I understand it's divey, but that doesn't have to equate to dirty. Flies kept landing on my cup. A friend had to send back a dirty cup. The staff generally seemed like they didn't much want to be there. There are so many nice looking places to eat in New Hope and I was incredibly disappointed to end up here. Shockingly, my pizza was decent, even above average. My hummus was below average. I'm glad I didn't have to see the kitchen. If I'm ever back in New Hope, I won't be back here.

Having several choices in the area we picked this this place because of the nice outside seating. That saying. The food was just OK. My burger didn't have all the ingredients on it that were advertised in the menu, the waitress looked at me like I was nuts when I complained my bacon and blue burger was missing the bacon. Rolled her eyes when we asked for water. Had to get another waitress to run my credit card after waiting for ten minutes.

I can't rate the food, since it never arrived. Stopped here for lunch today, because there were quite a few available tables, so I figured we'd be in and out. Waitress came, cleaned off the table, brought me iced tea, and water for my dining partner. Between 12:40 and 12:45, she took our lunch order: cheesesteak with mozzarella for me, and chicken parm sandwich for my partner. But, he'd like to start off with a salad. "Would you like that with your meal, or bring it out first?" "I'd like it first, please." I glance at the two women sitting at the table next to us, chatting and enjoying their beer. We wait. And wait. And wait. I think it's nice and a bit unusual that the women next to us are seated at a table just to have a few beers and talk. I mean, they could do that at the bar, rather than in a dining area? Waitress has been going back and forth, passing our table. My iced tea is nearly empty. No offers of a refill, probably because she never looks our way. Sometime after 13:10, the women next to us are served their lunch. I notice that they both ordered salad. Huh. So they were having lunch after all. And they had been seated and drinking already when we arrived. And it took that long to prepare a freakin salad? So i look around...that family of 3 on my left is not happy. They have a young child. The parents are just sitting there, not talking, just looking around. The table that I am facing, a couple sitting there, the man has his legs outstretched, looking bored and well, a little hostile. 13:20, i'm getting a little antsy, hungry, annoyed. The appetizer salad that was supposed to arrive for my dining partner hasn't shown up. My iced tea is gone, which is a shame, because at this point I would have dumped about 1/2 cup of sugar in it to temporarily satisfy my hunger. I watch the waitress from the corner of my eye. She walks past our table a few times, going to the bar and to the other tables. Again, no checking to see if we need refills, not even to explain where our meal is. 13:25 I announce to my dining partner that if we aren't served in 5 minutes, he is welcome to wait, but I will not. 13:30 I throw a fiver on the table and we leave. Sooooo...we had waited for at least 45 mins. During that time, not even the pre-preemptive salad was served. No explanation. No checking on us, on our drinks. And as I sat there, people watching, it was even more annoying knowing that no matter how many people post their bad experiences, it won't matter. Fran's is right on the main drag in New Hope, and there will ALWAYS be hungry tourists wandering into that trap. So they can be as awful as they want, it just won't matter.

My wife and I had a Hotdog each and i had one beer and she had a lemonade..it was over 22 dollars... and it wasnt very good. great location to people watch, but thats about it..be prepared for the roar of bikes parking or pulling out if you intend to sit along the sidewalk.. im sure its a happening place in the evening., but be prepared to spend big dollars . i will try another place next time..we did eat earlier at the Peddlers Pub in the village 10 minutes away...i prefered that place

This is the place to go in New Hope! They renovated and added more room . I had my daughters 30 th birthday here and the owner Karen made it a memorable event. The food was excellent . Our guest were all raving on how nice it was. Fran's is not only a neighborhood bar/ restaurant it is family owned and represents generations of Expertise. Planning an event , book Fran's , you won't be disappointed. Strolling around New Hope make Fran's you dinning choice. Yum

After choosing a day wandering around New Hope, instead of fighting the crowds at the Lambertville NJ ShadFest, we shopped until we were tired, hungry and ready for some brewskies. With many places to eat along the main drag and back streets of New Hope, we settled on Fran's Pub. This place is amazingly-alive with people, including plenty of bikers out for an afternoon of fun. The place was packed. We were lucky to find 2 seats at the outdoor bar. The bar had several flat screens and a awning that extended over the stools that line the complete area around the bar. We sat next to a couple who cruised to New Hope on their beautiful bike. After we struck up a conversation, there was plenty to talk about since all four of us had plenty of things in common. After having several beers, Arlene had french onion soup and we shared a pizza with mushrooms and onions. The pizza was tasty, crisp on the bottom, and perfectly done on top. While they have a fairly extensive menu, I was looking for simple and tasty, which is what we got. The staff behind the bar were good at what they do, and were able to handle even the largest swell of people, who came and went in waves. The only downside was that, after a brief but heavy rainstorm it grew cold. We had to ask several times, over the course of about 45 minutes, for them to "fire up" the outdoor heaters. Once they did, we were warm and toasty, and the crowd began to build again. Fran's Pub was so inviting and fun that we ended up staying far longer than we had intended, and really didn't want to leave, if not for having to drive home to attend to our dog Bailey. My advice is, when in New Hope PA, stop in to Fran's Pub and have a great time!

I stopped by on Sunday afternoon 2/8 at4pm. I ordered a burger with fries and a draft beer while I waited. The beer was fine but seemed over priced at $6 for a pint of Yuengling? My burger was tasteless as were the seasonless fries. Avoid this place.

Wow not sure how the food was it never arrived after hour of waiting tonight. Terrible service rude staff keep walking folks to find somewhere else.

The service here is atrocious and the food is average at best. Came here for lunch today with my family. Our waitress wasn't the slightest bit attentive. When our appetizer arrived we realized there were no silverware or napkins on our table. We then pretty much had to hunt down our waitress to ask her for them because she never came around to check on us. And the same poor service continued throughout our stay. Never asked if we wanted a refill on our drinks so I left dying of thirst. And the food is extremely poor quality. I ordered a burger and I've had better from Wendy's. Don't get me wrong, this place is a lot less expensive than a lot of other restaurants in the vicinity but I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" holds truth to this joint!

My go to bar in New Hope all year long!! Brandon, Chris and Brittany are the best bartenders. Super friendly and great service. Unlimited snow crab legs on Tuesdays!! Love hangin out at the outside during the summer and playing pool inside during the winter. Will be back forever and ever until I die.

If I could give it 0 stars I absolutely would. I have truly never had a worse experience. The food was the epitome of freezer food, and other than our waitress the experience was dreadful to the point that I actually walked out in tears. The 18 year old manager treated us as though we were below him when we told him that we were unhappy with the poor quality of food. (To you sir, please grow up. And to your parents--owners, you may want to pay for your child to attend a school to learn how to treat others ESPECIALLY working in customer service) On our part we did attempt to eat half of our food as we were extremely hungry, but less than half way through we could not finish it. The manager came to our table and told us there was nothing that he could do. At first it was accepted as we do not like to cause trouble or a scene; however, when the bill came I could not fathom spending even half of the money on the bill. He came back to our table and after again talking down to us, and treating us as though he was the victim instead of acting as a manager and handling the situation he decided to comp the table next to us for "having to deal with us". I am appalled and have never in my life dealt with such a horrible manager, or shall I say, spoiled brat child in my life. I hope this place accidentally burns down by the paper cups and plates that they serve for food and drinks.

Never ate anything here but their bar is really cool and the bartender made the most perfect Long Island iced tea. I'll definitely be back. DONT GO TO HAVANA!

Fantastic place for a winter Friday night - two friends and I spent a few hours chatting and eating dinner Loved the fried pickle spears - not greasy at all. For dessert try the nutella torte - GF but you would never know it - so decedant!!! Server was super sweet too!

I'm not sure what happen it was like a magic trick. The food was fine. But when the bill came each item my bf and I ordered was $2 more then on the menu. I just had to ask the waitress what gives. And she told me. It's b/c u got the sweet potato fries ( I did not u HATE them) then she said it was because I got FF. I asked the waitress if my meal came with fries when I ordered she said yes. Still not sure why my BFs meal was two more his def came with fries

Some of our group had the Tuesday night crab legs & loved them. Two of us enjoyed pizza & one person had chicken saltimboca and loved it. Several people had beers. Good service & enjoyable atmosphere but it was chilly tonight. We love to come for crab Tuesdays every now and then.

I stopped by Fran's on a beautiful summer afternoon for lunch. I thought the food was just OK - nothing worth writing home about, I suppose average bar/pub-ish food from what I saw. The portions were pretty big - my friend and I could've split his sandwich and ate just that! Fran's did have a ton of outdoor seating, which would be a great place to drink & people watch

Fran's Pub would be one of my favorite places on Main Street in New Hope, PA. It's comfortable, good food, and good service. Our waiter Chris was awesome. Really nice guy, knows everything off the top of his head. Food - I ordered a cheesesteak hoagie. It was pretty good but I wished they stuff it a little bit more. Still a great sandwich though. My wife had a pastrami sandwich which was good. I really dislike pastrami sandwiches that are stacked with just meat and mustard. It's so unhealthy and disgusting... My nephew had 2 orders of their garlic wings. I wish I can describe it to you but I can't, little guy hogged all of it and didn't share one wing with any of us. Drinks - They had a few beers on tap. I wished they carried a wider range of ales but I could settle for they have. Verdict - I'll definitely be back again next time when we visit New Hope. Some of the other restaurant/bars aren't as family friendly as Fran's Pub. I'll be sure to try their garlic wings next time and give all of you guys a updated review.

Of all the places to eat in New Hope, this is likely the best. From the cozy surroundings to their delicious menu, Fran's is a great fit to any trip to New Hope (even if you're just passing through the town). The portions are generous, the quality high and the drinks are exquisitely affordable. Grab a burger, you will enjoy every bite. In the warm months, the outdoor seating is a great alternative to the indoor arrangement.

House salad on paper plates, not good all around. But broccoli with ricotta medium pizza shared with my husband was amazing. Best pizza crust ever.

I'm a local so we go during the week when the crowds are lighter in new hope. My wife and I will take our three kids for dinner which has always been great. I personally enjoy the hot open face roast beef sandwich with gravy and French fries or mashed potatoes. The food menu is pretty extensive and has a lot of different options to fit any appetite. I have not been to the bars.

Tried couple different sandwiches over the years and nothing has stood out me as different or anything out the ordinary. Food is just ok. Your better off going to other places on the strip like Havana that have MUCH tastier food and better service. Also the Crab Legs there got me sick twice and I'm not allergic. Would not recommend getting these. They come out cold. If you even dare to let someone have a bite of your crab legs they will charge you twice for the dish. Can't believe a restaurant would do that, but it happens there. I DO NOT recommend spending your hard earned money at this place. New Hope/Lambertsville is a beautiful area with many great eateries and people who wait on you. Fran's is regrettably not one of them FYI- they do accept AmEx

Enjoyed lunch at Frans during a day trip to New Hope and honestly we only picked it because the BBQ place next door (Which smelled delicious!) was BYOB! I ordered a Mexican burger which was cooked perfectly rare - always a plus! It was smothered in salsa, guac, pepper jack and jalapeños! Spicy and delicious - definitely not for the faint of heart! My boyfriend ordered the garlic wings and felt that they were too spicy! Our server was polite and friendly, although to young to pour beer which resulted in a prolonged wait for out drinks, but not a problem. Only real bummer was the bill for two Leinkugels and a Shock Top was almost $30 - beer is cheaper at a Flyers or Phillies game!! Had I known I would have stuck to a domestic draft!

The pizza was sad sad sad. Beer servied in plastic cups. 'Nuff said.

Good pizza and strombolis and, unlike most of New Hope, their prices aren't 'overly' inflated for the product returned to you. They recycle Corona bottles to make salt and pepper shakers, too!

The pizza I had was the "New York" pizza. It was "meh". Nothing special, though I did see the girl at the next table with a amazing looking nacho dish. Overall this bar is just your ave bar food joint. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed. This bar's atmosphere doesn't suit my personality, but people here love this place so I wanted to try this place out.

i'd say fran's is pretty mediocre. biggest plus: location. the outside seating and outdoor bar make fran's a prime location for people-watching (my fave) in new hope. if you've never done it, you should. the bar is what you'd expect from a typically divey sort -of place. the LITs are decent. everything is served in plastic cups. i've only eaten at fran's a few times, and the meals have been forgettable and unremarkable. i wouldn't recommend coming hear just to eat- there are so many places within walking distance that serve up a better meal. overall, pretty okay. come for the location and some casual drinkies.

$20 for a cheese quesadilla and a beer? What a waste of money. The food wasn't anything special either. Wish I picked a different place to try.

I think the Italian food here is excellent did you have some other dishes besides Italian. This place has a pizzeria and an outdoor bar as well as an indoor bar. They also have a room for a music venue with stage. His face is a lot of fun and usually packed on the weekends.

Had lunch here twice. Food was good both times. Nothing to really go crazy about but it tasted good. Atmosphere was nice during day very laid back and relaxing. The fried pickles were whole quartered pickles which wasn't what I was expecting but they were really good either way. Nice to sit outside... when it's not 90 degrees. Overall I'll be back because it's not as expensive as some of the other restaurants in the immediate area. Nice place. Server was pleasant. Not very busy during the week either (which can't be said during the weekend!)

Great location with a lot of space. Nice mix of outdoor seating which is great for family -- and partying at night indoors. Went with my son and enjoyed a great pizza and salad. OK beer selection - this was a disappointment, I would have expected more choice. Staff was very friendly and very attentive. It is next to the sidewalk, and a lot of bikers on the weekend (if that bothers you). Nice spot for a beer, a pizza with your family, etc.

Fran's Pub is the best place to eat in the quaint little town of new hope. Service was excellent! We sat out on the outside area, weather was awesome and such a cool ambiance. The cheese sticks are the best I've ever had. I highly recommend the taco salad! It was delicious! My husband got a bacon cheeseburger and said it was the BEST burger he's ever had!

Once again, another great experience at Fran's! We took our newborn up to Lambertville/New Hope for the first time on Saturday, and went right to Fran's, after parking in the Triumph lot. We ordered the steamed clams, which were some of the best I've ever had, and a spinach white pizza, to which we added mushrooms and meatballs. The Miller Lites are cheap, the pizza is tasty. Ambiance is great, and you can sit outside. We fed the baby, and all was well. The only thing that I ding them for, now that I'm a parent, is that the bathrooms don't have any sort of changing station. Small, I know, but I have to evaluate the whole package, right?

It was a while ago, but I don't remember one bad thing about this place. We went for dinner, and ordered fatty food's, and left amazingly satisfied. Can't wait to go back.

Tattoo's, mohawk's, leather & lace... To say New Hope is a melting pot would to it a disservice. Fran's pub is the perfect spot to view it all. They have a large outdoor seating area and an outdoor bar. I usually grab a pizza and a few drinks when ever I get to stop by. The pizza is good and from what I have seen their sandwich's look tasty. If you are drinking outside all your drinks will come in plastic cups. This didn't bother me at all but I know some people don't like it. The service was sub par but not horrible.

One of the worse restaurants I have ever been to in my life. Ordered a cheeseburger and it tasted horrible I felt like I was in high school cafeteria. We also ordered a grilled chicken sandwich you get more off of the McDonalds's $1.00 menu. Horrible...I am a total foodie but the food was gross. Never ever go back

A solid 3 stars for food. Extra star for a great outdoor seating area right on main street and bargain prices (for New Hope). Previous reviewers who label this place expensive need to realize that everything in New Hope is expensive so relatively speaking prices aren't bad. Check the other restaurants, many 33% higher for the same thing. The only thing I thought was a bit chintzy was $2 for a 12 oz ice tea with no refills. At least they could increase the cup size to 24 or 32oz if no refills! The ice tea is Lipton's so their cost is only pennies here. Had the Pastrami sandwich, was good. Portions and service were good as well. Definitely will go to Fran's again. Related New Hope note: rode my motorcycle there. Good parking on the street right in front of Fran's. Even managed to get out of town before the noise Nazi's (police) started giving out baseless tickets. Ironic since riding along the Delaware River means alot of bikers stop here in the summer and spend quite a bit of money on lunch and misc stuff from the other businesses.

I really liked this place - very nice bartenders who despite it being insanely packed, kept an eye on my bottle and made sure I was always full up. They just redid the bathrooms and they are very nice and clean. They are dog friendly and will bring your pupper a bowl of water. If you look youngish - be prepared to be IDed. We didn't eat but the pizza looked really good (remember I'm down in Cherry Hill so any other than south Jersey/Philly pizza looks good). I will definitely go back.

They up charged 2 dollars for subbing a side salad for fries. Not a big deal if the salad was bigger. However, it was very small. The fiesta taco wrap was... Merely edible. They charged 7 something for a bottle of Summer Shandy and 6 dollars for a glass of mediocre merlot. The prices are too high for this shabby joint.

Came here late at night after a show, mainly because it looked decent and they were open when we showed up at 11:00 pm. It was quite mediocre. Got salad and pizza, neither of which were very satisfying. The house salad (mixed greens) had huge chunks of iceberg lettuce that consumed the majority of the plate (not my preference). The entire crust of the pizza was burnt black. I was thinking they could redeem themselves with good service, but... no. Our waitress never checked in with us, didn't offer refills on our water until we asked, brought us the check when we had plenty of food left (which was fine) but didn't offer a box until we asked, and after we packed up our food we had to remind her to come pick up the check so we could head out. Just generally not attentive whatsoever. Don't plan to be back.

After visiting New Hope many times over the years, this was the first time I ever visited Fran's. In the summer the place is packed and a lot of bikers visit the place (not that that's necessarily bad, just not my crowd.) But we went there in January and it was one of the few places that had affordable food and looked like it was populated by locals, which is usually a good sign. We had a decent lunch and our server was very nice. The salad I had was nothing special, but the soup was OUTRAGEOUSLY good. It was supposed to be beef barley, but instead it had polish sausage, potatoes and zucchini. I didn't complain because it was so stinking GOOD! The dining room is in the front and has windows on 3 sides, so it's good for people watching. The bar is in the rear and the patio is open during warm weather and for special events.

went here for the night with my girlfriend and we had the worst service ever. not to mention our food was horrible and they gave us everything we didnt want on the items we chose. when we asked for something our waitress assured us she'd bring it to the table and instead ignored our orders and was talking to other employees standing around texting an never gave us what we asked for. she barely checked on our table and was very rude but when the check came she was quick to get us out of there. never going back again.

I can't remember the last time I had such terrible food. We were looking for an affordable place to go to in the area. Most of the restaurants on the main street are pretty costly. I wish we had decided to spend the extra money and go somewhere nicer. I had a vegetarian pizza. There was no flavor in it at all. I had to sprinkle a ton of garlic, oregano, and salt. My sister got a chicken finger sandwich. Dry, cold, chewy bread and barely any honey mustard in it. if you're looking to save money, skip on a nice meal later in the week and go to a fancier place. You have lots of other restaurants to choose from down the main road.

This is one of those places that we have walked by a bunch of time and thought "hey that looks like a cool place." But never went in. Not only is the people watching awesome but the prices are very reasonable for New Hope. Plenty of choices to sit inside or out, service was pretty good, and again prices were reasonable.
